How Do You Watch

For the past several posts, I’ve covered music and reading. So what’s next? I’m sure you can guess…

That’s right. Television and movies. To be honest, I don’t watch a lot of TV, as far as the total number of shows I watch at any given time, but when I find something I like, I tend to watch and re-watch over and over and over. I know I mentioned being able to buy shows from iTunes or being able to convert DVDs to put on my iPod or iPad, but there’s another way to get your binge on—Netflix!

How many of you subscribe? How many of you love it?? Do you stream only or do you also get discs? While our family does have discs as part of our plan, we do most of our watching via streaming. We’ve all got the Netflix app on our various devices, but a lot of the newer game consoles and TVs have access built right in. How cool and easy is that??

Our family is able to watch our old stand-bys over and over again—the various Star Trek series are favorites. My husband has cruised through most of the crime shows. My daughter loves the reality type shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Cake Boss. And my son is a big fan of the survival shows like Dual Survival with Dave Canterbury and Cody Lundeen.

As for me, I like all kinds of shows, from Sci-fi like Star Trek and Stargate, to dramas like Once Upon a Time, and comedies like Sports Night. If you’ve never seen Sports Night, get on that one ASAP. It’s not a sports show, by the way, it’s a show about the people who put on a sports show, and it’s incredibly smart and really funny.

So—what’s your current TV obsession?

Mine’s the BBC’s Sherlock. If you’re a fan, I’d love to hear from you.
